Anyone who knows me will know I've always been a huge fan of the Atelier game series by Gust, so much so that I have now completed 5 Atelier titles 100%! Out of all the Atelier games I have played, there has always been a favourite for me. My favourite game from the Arland trilogy centers around a young alchemist named Rororina, known to her friends and local townsfolk as Rorona. She's a ditzy airhead with a heart of gold and just a slight obsession with pies.

I had originally given up on getting this figure when she came out last year, her retail price was just too high for me at the time. Not to mention, she came out during the height of my SMT/Persona obsession so was also, admittedly, overlooked in favour of other figures. Recently, I started searching for her once again as whenever I saw images of her - I felt a pang of jealousy inside. For a while, I made up excuses why I didn't get her on release to ease the ache of missing out on her. But, as you can tell, there was a happy ending to this story. I was searching on Mandarake one day and saw her for the price of 4,000 Yen which is roughly £27. A quick glance at Martin and then back at my screen, I almost decided not to ask and push my luck by asking for her since we're meant to be scaling back our figure collecting. He, however, smiled and said I could order her.

The wait overnight for confirmation left me a mixture of anxious and giddy with excitement. If I remember rightly, I woke up at 6am and found an email on my phone saying she was mine. We paid for her and several days later, she arrived at her new home. I have to say, from the moment I saw her I fell in love with her character all over again. I could go on and on about her, about how her potion bottles are fantastic and her staff is lovingly recreated. Of course, there are a few minor details which aren't exactly the same but for a figure of my favourite Atelier protagonist, she is as near perfect as she could possibly be.

I just hope that one day that a company will create a 20 year old Rorona figure as I'm currently the proud owner of the 8 year old and 14 year old versions. Make it happen, someone.

There will always be room in my collection for more Rorona. Always.
